Change

cha-chingThis episode of the Daedalus Howell Show is in large part concerned with notions of “change.” First we discuss the man who put ch-ch-ch-changes in the rock and roll vocabulary — David Bowie, by way of author Dave Thompson’s wonderful new biography “Hallo Spaceboy, the rebirth of David Bowie” now available in bookstores everywhere. My brother Shannon Ferguson recalls the diffulty of getting change in New York City — to make a phone call. And finally, I chat with Elise Elrod, a former engineer and Southern Baptist pastor who struggled with gender identity until making some changes herself. The show closes on some selections from Wenday Carlos’ Switched on Bach.
